William Parkin

Assistant Professor

Dr. Parkin received his Ph.D. in criminal justice from the City University of New York, Graduate Center and is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Criminal Justice at Seattle University. Currently, he is Co-PI on a Seattle Police Department community policing initiative and has worked with the Seattle Housing Authority on the development of public safety plans for their communities. In addition to community public safety, his research interests include domestic extremism and terrorism, homicide victimization, and the media’s social construction of criminal justice issues. His research has been published in the Journal of Quantitative Criminology, the Journal of Interpersonal Violence, Sociological Spectrum, Economic Letters, Homicide Studies, Terrorism & Political Violence, and Studies in Conflict & Terrorism.
